Michele found her yoga practice nearly 25 years ago. Or rather, as she states, “her practice found her”. As yoga began to transform her life, she deepened her study through the practice of Mysore-style yoga in the tradition of Sri. K.P. Jois and has gone on to become certified in several traditions while having worked with renown teachers such as Jois, Iyengar and Bikram, among others. Michele’s classes reflect the vinyasa tradition, blending physical alignment and core strength in a fluid rhythm with an emphasis on conscious sequencing. She emphasizes breath awareness and attention to detail to promote ease and stability in each pose. No matter your age or ability level, Michele aims to inspire confidence and a sense of possibility that lasts long after you roll up your mat.
Having sustained serious physical injury, Michele’s own yoga practice has been at the center of her recovery. She firmly believes that coming to the mat each day with a “beginner’s mind” encourages compassion and curiosity for one’s body and internal being towards healing. Michele’s classes provide practitioners with the opportunity to develop a deep personal relationship with asanas to reveal how “the evolution of one’s practice is a mirror image of one’s relationship to oneself.”
In addition to being a certified yoga professional, Michele is also a certified personal fitness trainer (NASM, APEX) and NYS certified ESL teacher (MA, MS Ed). She has a local personal training studio serving clients of all ages through integrated fitness experiences in various styles and levels. Whether in yoga, fitness or formal education, Michele is committed to honoring and empowering each individual she works with toward personal growth and well-being
